DVD Recorders don't work!!!

I went through 4 DVD recorders in the past 3 years, NONE of which worked properly and constantly i end up with error messages and worthless coasters for disks. Something MUST be wrong with how these machines are put together! I wish all dvd recorders would be recalled until they fix them right and we'd all go back to VHS!!!
