I had a knee replacement in Nov. 2004. The doctor told me it would do great. I would be up and around in a matter of weeks. But I was in so much pain. It would hurt so bad for me to try to get out of bed to use the bathroom. I had therapy at home. It was like in Feb. 2005 before I could even drive. I complained to my doctor about the swelling and the pain. He just kept telling me . Well it takes time give it at least a year to heal. When he released me I was still complaining. Again he said give it a year. Well for a year and a half I had to take pain pills and couldn't walk very good. I couldn't walk very long at a time. I couldn't even exercise any. Anyway I had a friend get me into a Great Doctor in Nashville. He found out that the first doctor had cut a muscle in my knee when he did the surgery in 95' Which the other doctor never told me about it. That was one of my big pain problems. I ask this doctor if he could help me he said yes. First the other doctor didn't cement down the top part of the knee replacement. This is another cause of my pain. So the doctor in Nashville said he would have to remove the top part of the old knee replacement and put a new one in. Then he would replace the other knee. The first time I was in Hospital for almost a week. This time I had surgery on both knees on a Wed. morning I went home on Sat. morning and walked to get in the car to go home. Before they had to lay me in the back seat. What a difference. I walked out of the car and up two steps from the new doctor's surgery on both knees. Before I had to use a walker so much I had callous'. This time I just used a cane to help me not to fall till I was steady. It has been like going on the 7th. week now since surgery and I use no cane. In fact I got rid of the cane in two weeks. I drove in two weeks. I can tell each day I wake up the difference in my knees. They are so much better. I just wanted to say the first doctor was Dr. Beauchamp in Clarksville,TN that did my surgery. If you need this type of surgery go see Dr. Dyer in Nashville he is the greatest. I tried to file a law suit against the first doctor. But The state of TN has a law after 1 year you can't do anything about it. That is why the first doctor kept saying give it a year or a bit longer. Yep he was taking care of his self really well. Just had to say something about this. I feel like I should be able to sue the first doctor but can't.
