dishwasher repair

I have a maytag dishwasher model #MDBTT79WQ i just had a 200.00 repair bill for something that had a bad disign the handle broke the handle it self only cost 13.00 but due to the disign it also broke the little i mean very little tab on the control panel so i also had to replace the hole control panel witch mine was good al except for the little tab that held the handle in place the new parts had a new design.
