honestly what works for me is starting off with a somewhat surprised revelation like wow, when did you get cute. or something like that. basically assert that you did not find them attractive but now they aren't that bad ;) but smoothly. it takes trial and error man, trial and error. also it's terrible but practice with girls that aren't from your town that aren't that good looking. they'll more likely respond the way you want and you can find out what works and what doesn't
