Bought the directv hd dish and receiver a couple of months ago because they were giving $200 rebates on them. The rebate form they sent out said that you needed to submit a confirmation letter, email or sales receipt with the rebate for the refund. Directv never sent me a letter in the mail or email. I never got a sales reciept because it was purchased from them over the phone. I called them in regards to this last month and asked them to send me an email or confirmation letter. Instead they gave me some confirmation numbers over the phone to write on my rebate form to take place of the letter or email. I asked them more than once if this was ok and they said yes. I even called back to confirm a week later before I mailed the rebate form and someone else told me the exact same thing. Well a couple days ago I got a rejection notice about the rebate that stated I was not going to get my $200 because I didn't have the confirmation letter, email or sales receipt. I called Directv up about it and they told me too bad nothing they can do. The rebate sounds like a scam to me. I'm pissed. Thinking of having directv pick up the equipment and go with dish. Get this...a couple years ago when we had the regular directv set up (this time I've learned my lesson)they wanted me to upgrade my package to include a few movie channels and they said they would send out a $20 visa gift card as a thank you so I went ahead and did (for the movie channels, not the gift card). Yes....I never received my gift card. I did cancel that package though, their movie selection continuously sucks. Thanks raw complaints, I feel better:)
