
Direct TV scam

Anyone out there considering signing up for sattallite service with Direct TV read this first. They over sell thier service without adaquate service personel to provide time service calls. My service went down on the day of the World Cup soccer match final. After 35 mins finally got hold of a service tech on the phone, was told I would require a service call, that would cost $70 and I would have to wait 23 days before they would have an open date for the service call. I tried to speak to someone at a managerial position on four occassions to complain about the lack of available service and I was left on hold each time for very long periods of time without ever speaking to a manger. Furthermore when I decided this was consumer abuse at it's best and called my to canceled my nonexistant service, was told I would be charged $150 cancellation fee. I told them to as they wish and that i had not intentions of paying them a cent. The result is that I been turned over to a collection agency to collect the cancellation fee. This outrageous and I strongly suggest that anyone even thinking about signing up with Direct TV explore other options before you make a huge mistake.
