Hello I'm a jeweler/Gemologist for over 20 years --I got scamed by a Dentist in Dallas. The Dentist asked me to bring high end jewelry to trade for dental work but, he was paid from a barter group the we both belonged too but kept my jewelry valued over $13,000. and won't talk to me and will not give my jewelry back. He has let me go as a patient and the police say it's civil ...I disagree --it's outright theft...The Attorny General cited a case 'The Error of Casey' which states 'manner of acquisition' is inconsequential to the evil of a theft:the gravamen of theft is in depriving the true owner of the use, benefit, enjoyment or value of his property, without his consent... My consent ended February 7,2006 I sent a certified letter and email demanding my property back...No reply from him. Why won't the Dallas Police even listen or try to understand my complaint and the worst part is ,they don't care about what the: OAG of Texas Article 31.03 of the penal code,it's a law. Thanks for reading. Roc.
