To: Canadian Tire Corp., Customer Service, May 21, 2006 Sir or Madam, Below is a list of unimpressive events that have taken place concerning my Poulan Chain saw: 1. 23 March 2006. AM. Made two cuts with the saw. Before the second cut was finished the saw quit working. I was unable to start it because the cord would not pull out of the saw. The engine appeared to have seized-up. 2. 23 March 2006. PM. Took saw for repair to Beach Home Hardware, authorized warranty repair depot for Poulan Chain Saws. Told that it should take about 2 weeks. 3. 8 April 2006. Talked to Beach Home Hardware. I was told that the saw needed a piston & cylinder. I was told that the parts had been ordered but that they were not in yet. Told that it would be another two weeks. 4. 1 May 2006 Went to Beach Home Hardware. I told them that it would soon be 6 weeks since I brought in the saw for repair. They said the parts were still not in. 5. 1 May 2006 Went to CTC, Prescott where I purchased the saw. I told them that it would soon be 6 weeks since I took in the saw for repair. Asked them if they could do anything to help me. 6. 2 May 2006. Received a phone call from Bill, of CTC, Prescott at 9:05 AM, while I was away from home. A message was left with my daughter. The message stated that the parts for my chain saw had been delivered to Beach's HH. 7. 2 May 2006 In person, I talked to Bill at CTC, Prescott later in the morning. He said the parts were in at Beaches HH and that the saw should be repaired by the end of the week. 8.. 8 May 2006 I talked to Lewis Beach of Beach Home Hardware in person. He said that a whole assembly had come in for the saw and that it was installed but that there was a compression leak.. He said that they would be working on it in the next couple days. 9. 12 May 2006 Went to Beach HH in person and asked to have my repaired saw. I was told that the parts had come in but that they hadn't had time to put them in yet. They said they would try to put them in on Monday. I have heard absolutely nothing about my saw since. Now, if the parts had been put in the saw on the 8th of May, why were they still not in the saw on the 12th? I really don't like being lied to!!! Obviously, they have never received the parts yet. Maybe they received parts from Poulan, but they were not parts for my saw. I took the saw in for repair on the 23rd of March and now it is the 21st of May. Still no sign of a repaired saw. This saw was purchased on 7 September 2005. It has a full one year warranty but it sits in a repair shop for TWO MONTHS with no sign of repair. And the lying just keeps going on. If the saw cannot be repaired in less time than that, I believe there is something seriously wrong. Perhaps, it is time for a new saw. I also suggest that if the Poulan Company cannot repair their product faster than that, perhaps you should stop selling their product. Service like this is not good for your business!!!! Your company sold it!!!
