
defective merchandise

In March I ordered 8 - 22oz glasses and 8 14oz glasses from SmartBargains. They arrived and were beautiful. Took off the stickers, washed them and made them a place in our cupboard. Then came REAL BAD LUCK. I picked up one of the smaller ones to use, and the bottom had dropped out of it. I thought HUM?. Later on we used the larger ones for lemonade. My husband picked his up to take a drink and the whole thing fell apart. 22ozs of lemonade right in his plate and all over the table. Next time I checked them visually with a bright light, filled them with lemonade again, and all of a sudden lemonade started running out of it all over the table again, I picked it up quickly, but who can catch a big spill?? Once again I inspected a couple 8 oz ones, and put them on the table with orange juice in them, RIGHT!!! One of them just collapsed. Now I think I had received some very badly damaged merchandise, even if the retailer did not know about it either, I know this 'stuff' was BAD!! I ordered them from Smart Bargains, and they have a 30 day return policy, to which I never even used them before that time had expired. Well guess we are 'dumb' seniors, because i had about $60 invested in that box of broken glass. Has anyone else out there had this same problem? marjorie underwood,,,,belprehome@charter.net
