Can you help? We would like advice on where to go to resolve our debt. Briefly: In 1994 a loan was taken out with my ex wife to purchase household items, the loan was for £7,500. We divorced the following year and I took on the loan as part of the agreement. There followed a period of hardship which included injury and unemployment. During this time I was in constant contact with the company. In 2000 I joined a debt management company who let this situation go to a County Court Judgement. I became unhappy with the company in 2002 and decided to make my own payments. To summarise: I borrowed £7,500, I have paid back (to date, Oct.2006) £11,428.74, they say I owe in the region of £50,000. CAN YOU HELP
