damage to car interior

I have a complaint against Yankee candle Co. and its product contractors. I bought a car jar from local department store, in less than 24 hours it damanged the interior of my car. After complying with request from yankee candle and contractor ie.sending photos,repair estiments etc.. I was sent a letter from the contractor stating that they were not liable and it was my error. Now, mind you I had never used this product befor, so I know I read the directions and placed it in car vent as instructions. They stated that through lab test they were unable to recreate the cause of the oil leaking onto my dash. Did they place it a car of same make and model as mine, did they take into consideration the temperature ( I live in the south and they are located in Ma.)I think not. so now I have had to hire a lawyer.I am doing a little research to see if there are anymore consumers out there who have had the same situation occur and if Yankee Candle co. addressed the problem and paid for the damanges or did they get the shaft like me?
