Contacting Equifax for Credit Dispute

I recently pulled my personal credit report and score from Equifax. While reviewing my credit report, I noticed some errors. They were showing several revolving credit accounts that had been closed as well as showing multiple accounts for the same company that had completely incorrect account numbers. I did what any reasonable person would do. I began attempting to contact them to report the error and begin getting it corrected. According to the report my credit file was actuall owned by CSC Credit Services. (That makes 0 sense to be because CSC Credit Services is not one of the three credit reporting agencies) None the less, I attempted to contact CSC Credit Services via the phone number supplied on the report. (800-392-7816)This is the number identified on the report to initiate a credit investigation. When calling that number I simply get directed to perform this function via WWW.CSCCREDIT.COM which I did turn around and log onto that website. I followed the process and registered a username and password. (I did receive a confirmation email stating that the registration was successful and that I could log on. I then attempted to log on with the information that I had just created and was given the msg that I was not authorized. So I then turned around and access WWW.INVESTIGATE.EQUIFAX.COM in the hopes of getting a contact number. All it tells you is to contact the number at the bottom of the report. Well, since my file is actually owned by CSC Credit Services, my report does not contain a number. The only way to speak with anyone at Equifax Customer service is to become a membern and that can only be accomplished by purchasing something from them. Now correct me if I am wrong but in this day and age of Identity theft and such that we live in where credit is pretty much effecting everything. It seems that those that control credit information of literally millions of citizens, should be required to allow the public to contact them easily to dispute errors on their side. It does not hurt them but it sure does hurt the millions of us that they control. The current consequences or this are small because I personally am not attempting to obtain a loan or anything. But if I fail to correct it now, it could fester and the errors could be worse the next time. Not to mention the fact that how many other people out there have the exact same problem. I am considering seeking legal counsil to initiate class action litigation against both Equifax and CSC Credit Services
