Confusion of Programming???

Why did Charmed cancel? It was a top running show and myself and my children waited to see the next episode... now it's gone!! Also... Everwood... why on earth would you replace that with Seventh Heaven??? My God... It was boring.. it started out good but.. after that.. boring!!... WHY????
