Compass Bank's NSF Fees for NSF Fees

We were a new account to the bank, but that made little difference to the level of customer service we received from Compass Bank. An overdraft in the amount of a little less than $7 was honored by the bank. However, within a week, the bank charged my account $72 in NSF Fees. I transferred $25 into the account to more than cover the $7 overdraft amount. Compass bank credited my account $72. Then they began to charge a $6 a day overdraft fee on the NSF fees. Actually, $6 on $6 on $6 until they ran up about another $55 in overdraft fees. If this sounds strange and confusing, it is. When I called the bank about it they admitted they were charging NSF fees for NSF fees. If this isn't some form of 'double jeopardy' what is it? When I told them to cancel the account, they said they could not do it over the phone. Several email messages were sent back and forth and they still are running the $6 a day trick. I want the account closed and all NSF fees removed. I thought I found a real bank with real customer service concerns. Boy was I fooled!
