
Compaq / HP laptop computers

This is possibly one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with. After buying a compaq laptop computer, and getting almost NO cooperation from this sad excuse for a company, I have decided to share my experiences, for those who care to see them. I must say, after the 'fun' I've had with this particular company, I would rather have my toenails pulled out one by one and the resulting wounds have salt poured out on them. It all started a couple of years ago, when I bought a compaq presario AMD 2800+ laptop computer. Within less than a year, the battery went out, and when I called contacted technical service, they informed me that it was out of warranty. I unsuccessfully argued that my receipt indicated the contrary, but got no satisfaction. Since that time, I had to replace the keyboard with money out of my own pocket ($100 for a USED ony by a local repairman, one of the few who would attempt such a thing). Next, the computer started acting like it was haunted, shortly after warranty was out (coincidence?)
