COLLECTIVE ACTION AGAINST WORLD GYM Joining Together, We Can FORCE World Gym To Listen!!! Like a lot of you, I am disgusted with World Gym -- not only for improperly debiting funds long after we terminated our contract (with full notice), but perhaps even more for their lack of common courtesy in refusing to respond to our calls and letters. It's bad enough that World Gym has my daughter's money (and credit!) hostage -- and we want to get her money back. But we think that a local business should not be able to treat some of its customers like this while luring in other unsuspecting customers. I am going to do something about it. I am preparing a letter to the Pennsylvania Attorney General outlining in detail the chronology of World Gym's improper conduct -- from initial misrepresentations, to failing to comply with contractual obligations, to abusing the banking/debit system, to violating fair debt collection laws. I've searched google, complaints.com, craigslist.com and other sources on the Web and have found many complaints like ours. I suspect that World Gym of Malvern has done this to more than a few people. If we combine efforts it should become apparent to the Attorney General that we are not dealing with one or two isolated instances, but with a company that systematically cheats it's customers then, when confronted, refuses to take responsibility. (In our experience they promise a response from a 'corporate office' in Florida that doesn't respond.) If you agree, I'd appreciate it if you would reply to me about your individual experiences.
