A new home should be exciting... right? We where able to purchase the biggest manufactured home that Clayton built, 32 x 90, 4 bedrooms, 2 living areas. We special ordered our home and added several upgrades to our package. We asked for the glamour master bathroom, which is really nice, but would be nicer if the shower doors hung evenly and stayed shut while you was in the shower. We upgraded the choice of carpet, which was like $1000 extra and now we know that the carpet in our home is pretty much the cheapest brand of carpet you can buy. Where did that $1000 go? It didnt go into the purchase of our UPGRADED carpet! The top notcher in all this.... are you ready?.... the house is coming apart in the middle. The actual floor is seperating and when the service manager himself came out to look at it said that the front half of the house was about 1inch lower than the back and was pulling it apart. He made all kinds of good sounding excuses for why it was doing it and promises a team would be out to get it fixed up. Over a month later the floors still the same and no one calls to come out. Its not a time issue thing either because I'm a stay at home mom and I'm here every single day. He also swore that the floor seperating would not cause problems to our roof, I am not 100% sure of this. The icing on the cake is our air conditioning unit... today (8/17/06) as gone out for not the first time..... but the second. First time was all day, that night and most of the next day before they got out to look at it. Now its out again... heat index is 103 degrees (today is suppose to be 109) and they wont be here any time soon, even though I had bombarded their phones with pleas. I could go into details about the trim in the kitchen, how it was butchered at the corners and was left jagged and ugly, to the tile coming up in my kitchen. BOTTOM LINE.... DO NOT BUY FROM CLAYTON HOMES IN TUlSA OKLAHOMA or any other Clayton dealer, other names for this company that I know of right now are Oakwood and Freedom. Please look to your BBB for more complaints or search the web for just 10 minutes and look at some of the really bad stories some other folks have dealt with from this company.
