Charity Auditor

My sister runs a small charity for drug addicts in the city. Since I am an auditor, she entrusted me with managing the charity’s funds. It’s not such a big amount but it’s big enough to tempt me. Six months ago, I began to steal from her charity. It was easy. I could make numbers disappear on the spreadsheet and money from the charity’s account. I made it so that it will be hard to verify that the money I’m taking off is missing but it’s only a matter of time before another auditor gets onboard and finds out. I am hoping to pay back the money soon just after I pay back the money I “borrowed” from my wife. I lost that in a “bad investment”.

Embezzling money is bad enough but to take it from a charity is even worse. You were placed in a position of trust WITH trust given to you. You have not only betrayed the organization but also your sister. You need to correct this pronto and once done, should step down before the next temptation. You have demonstrated extremely poor judgement but you have the opportunity to make it right before you get caught. I suggest you hustle your butt to make it happen.
