Buying Direct, too good to be true

When attending DIRECT BUY's 'open house,' attend knowing that you will not get to compare any prices for yourself. They show you a few pre-selected items and prices. They tell you to keep all your questions until the end but act so rushed for time you never get to ask anything before they hand you off to the next person who talks to you about financing. They expect you to commit to paying them just OVER $5,000 DOLLARS that very night. If you decide not to join, they say you can never be a member. HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTICS, 'you need this.' I was kept working on seperate paperwork while they explained the 17.75% FINANCE RATE and had him sign things in a big hurry then he'd say, 'just sign below your husband.' We never got anytime to discuss our desicion together. They would even accept a post dated check to get our membership. You only have three days to terminate your contract but the manager and the man who would sign us were going to be out of town at a convention for the next three days, coincidence?! I know some may have had success in their deailings with this company and we are happy for you. But if planning on joining, just know that it is not like a membership with Costo or anything like that. You don't get to check products for yourself beforehand and the list of complaints on the web are ENDLESS, just type in their name and 'complaints.' You can also find more info on them under UCC TOTAL HOME. Just thought you deserve an informed desicion before hand if you don't have $5,000+ to risk on a risky membership.
