
buy.com lcd monitor order

I ordered a 19' LCD computer monitor from Buy.com on 17 Oct. On 19 Oct 06 their web page reflected status as 'sent to warehouse.' When I queried them, they said it was no longer being sold and recommended that I cancel my order. When I tried to cancel my order I was told that it had been shipped on 19 Oct and gave me a FedEx tracking number.I checked the FedEx tracking and it stated estimated delivery on 23 Oct. A day or so later, the estimated delivery date was removed from the tracking data. When I called FedEx, they said the monitor was never tendered to them for delivery. I went round and round with Buy.com, told them to cancel my order and requested to speak to a 'human' but they did not call me (nor could I reach them by phone). They told me via e-mail that they could not cancel my order because it was being shipped and I would have to wait for 5 or 7 days before they could file a missing package report. They said I could just refuse the package when/if it showed up and they would credit my account. On 22 Oct I ordered a monitor from Tigerdirect.com. What a difference. I got the monitor on 26 Oct without doing express shipping...came via UPS. On 27 Oct, FedEx delivered the monitor from Buy.com but I was not home to refuse shipment. Will call FedEx now and have them pick up package for return and monitor my buy.com account and credit card to make sure Buy.com fully credits my order, including S&H.
