“just purchased supreme bamboo flooring from LL. :( if I only checked the internet first. its been a little over a week, half way thru the install and I have found boards with powder post beetles. Not only are the boards full of holes. But I have found the actual live beetles. I will try to resolve with LL but I think this will end up in court. Anyone interested in a class action about this. If these beetles are in the bamboo, it's possible they can be in any of the flooring that was in the warehouse at the same time. Also will contact DEP as this is an imported product.”

I am interested in a law suit

“I also purchased my wood floor from Lumber liquidators and have powder post beetles. Were you able to get your floor fixed? Did Lumber Liquidators tear it all out and replace it?”

We also purchased our bamboo flooring at LL and heard chewing sounds in the floor. About a year later.... HUGE black beatles crawled out of the floor.... Gross...

Installed Lumber Liquidators Morning Star Bamboo floor last fall. In May noticed 1/16" dia flight holes appearing randomly throughout, as randomly as they recommended the boards to be mixed from packages. Captured and had several samples of beetles analyzed - bamboo lyctid powder post beetle, domestic to North America. Filed a claim with LL. They offered store credit for price of purchase and reimbursement for tear-out and install. But, here is my problem: nowhere in any of their documents online or printed materials, or instructions do they mention that wood eating insects can be a problem. They basically admit this by stating "experts believe Boracare is an effective product to treat wood" in their email. Beware. Pre-treat any unfinished part of your wood with Bora-care or Tim-bor, or some boric acid. This will kill any insect eating through the treated part. Good luck.

“Oh my gosh, we're having the same problem. We bought our hard wood flooring from Lumber Liquidators about 3 years ago, it sat indoors about a year before installing as remodeling was a slow process. We installed it about a year and a half ago and I have been seeing powder in one plank since the fall. Just in the last week I have found the same tell-tale signs in to other areas of the house. I'm so upset, don't want to refinish/treat or remove the whole floor! Please let me know what's happened with your situation.”

Wondering what happened regarding your flooring with powderpost beetle? We have just noticed the same thing in bamboo from Lumber Liquidators installed in March 2012.
