BRIDALTOWN will RIP you OFF

I am getting married this October. I purchased a dress from Bridaltown, Collegeville, PA. After 4 months of waiting, it finally arrived. I was extremely excited. However, they ordered the incorrect size and took my measurements incorrectly, hence my dress didn't fit. The person helping me (Linda) was extremely rude and stated, 'How much weight have you gained?' and upon my leaving she made the comment 'If I were you I would consider joining Weight Watchers and going on a serious exercise plan.' Needless to say, I cried the entire day and couldn't believe that someone could be so insensitive and cruel. Well, the manager, Mr. Titze stated that he will call the designer to see if a dress can be rush shipped to me for my wedding. I spoke to him yesterday, he said I can have it by mid-September however, I would have to pay the cost of $125 for Rush service and delivery. This was extremely upsetting to me. He stated that such a thing never happens, and they would have to charge the costs to me. Well, I went on-line to find out the owner of Bridaltown (Warren Bittner- American Bridal Coop) and to my surprise, I am not the only person to have a nightmare of an experience with them. Other complaints were posted on www.ripoffreport.com (under category Bridal Shops) that stated similar problems (please see some of the complaints below). I don't know if you can do anything or know someone that can expose them for the criminals that they are. Brides have so much emotion wrapped up in their special day, and to have the joy and happiness taken away is just a shame. They should not be in business and should never treat people they way they do. Sincerely, Pam Bridaltown Address: 3446 Germantown Pike Collegeville Pennsylvania 19420 U.S.A. Phone Number: 610-489-1950 Fax: Bridaltown ordered all gowns at wrong sizes then when gowns came in the seamtresses they have tried to fix the gowns and ruined them. The wedding is two weeks away and now we have to take our gowns to our family seamtress and hope that she can fix them. They're a mess and the bride is all upset and Bridaltown could care less. The whole staff is rude and all they wanted was their money. Their manager is a terrible person. People like that shouldn't have a business, especially dealing with Brides and their wedding group. They ruined our day. I appreciate any help you could give us. Carol Giunta Carol Deptford, New Jersey U.S.A. ------ The prom dresses we looked at were all picked over, but the salesperson assured us that any defects would be fixed. The dress was too large but two seamstresses said that it could be altered. Maybe by professionals, but that word doesn't describe the people that work at Bridaltown. Even though the dress was in stock, you have to pay for shipping, and for alterations, and for hemming, and for pressing, and for anything else they can think of. Those extras cost me an extra $100. The dress was unwearable after the seamstresses got through butchering it--my daughter looked deformed! It's next to impossible to speak to a manager, and he wouldn't even see me when I brought the dress back. He has to find the time to talk to his own seamstresses before he can even discuss this with me! They have my money and the dress and still I wait. I've filed a dispute with my credit card company to see if they can get these crooks to stand behind their warranty. Do yourself a favor--STAY AWAY!!! Go to a reputable department store, like I ended up doing. Pay the price on the tag without a bunch of overpriced services, and find yourself a reputable tailor if you need alterations. You'll be so much happier. Jean Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania U.S.A. ------ Bridaltown has been the 'WORST' experience ever! I ordered dresses for my bridesmaids in October. I waited 6 months before they came in. This is all happening 2 weeks before my wedding day. The girls were fitted by Enza. She ordered their dresses 2 to 3 sizes to big. When it came time for the girls fitting, they had to basically take the whole dress apart. When we arrived for the final fitting, the dresses looked like my 5 year old nephew put them together. The manager was never around and would never get on the phone. After driving two hours to Bridaltown, the manager wanted us to come back again so that they could fix the dresses. What makes him think that if they didn't do any of the dresses right the first time, they will fix it the next time? We finally had to have the police come to the shop in order to get the manager to show up. This place is a RIP-OFF and the customer Service is TERRIBLE. I do not recommend anyone to this place unless they plan on being stressed out, overwhelmed, aggrevated and ready to loose all of their hair. The seamstress made one of the girls dresses different then the others and told me to switch her as my maid of honor. Did she seriously say that to me? Then when my fiance told her that this is for a wedding and not some party, she said , :So what'. I am extremely upset!! Ramona Philadelphia, Pennsylvania U.S.A. ------- I order my dress in August 2005 from Bridaltown- after waiting 4 1/2 months for my gown and veil to arrive, the dress was different from the sample I tried on at the store. The manager nastily accused me for the problem, when clearly I had nothing to do with ordering the correct dress. My favorite quote from the manger of Bridaltown is 'No, you listen to me!' Who talks to a customer this way? Additionally, the manager was on the premise but would not physically come and speak with me. This is just a small taste of the poor customer service that I received since ordering my gown. The next problem I encountered was that my veil was also ordered incorrectly, and again, the same rude customer service. I once again asked to speak to the manager and at 2:15 “he is out to lunch”, I checked back at 5:00 and “he left for the day. Boy would I like to have his job- he never works. I am still trying to get my veil fixed and my wedding is only 3 months away. My latest favorite comment is: 'The law states that we have until your wedding to get it to you' I find when they need to throw “the law” at a consumer, they must be running a pathetic business. I never in my life experienced such bad customer service and I will continue to warn people from dealing with them. The best thing for our town would for them to go out of business. Buyer Beware!
