Bridal shop

Being a bride surely is the most exciting experience of you life (second to having children of course). Well what does every bride want.....? The perfect dress!!! After 13 months of grief, running around and dealing with money grabbing, moraless individuals, I still haven't got the dress I originally ordered complete with accessories and with only 4 weeks to go til my big day, to say I'm anxious would be an understatement. The shop I've been dealing with, from day one have been laughable. I should have walked away there and then but, like most people today, we are told not to be judgemental and to give everyone a second chance, so I did just that. My first encounter with the 'ladies' included the owner (manager) tripping up a saturday girl carrying tea, needless to say it was an accident but rather than dealing with it in a responsible and professional manner, the manager proceeded to personally attack this poor young girl infront of the entire shop leading her to sobbing her little heart out in the changing room. Well, it was hot and busy so we carried on. The dress that the manager put on me was stunning don't get me wrong. But as I've later found out, being the most expensive dress in the shop - you'd expect it to be. Well, I loved it and agreed to their terms and conditions, 50% deposit now, balance on collection of the dress in a years time. However, for some reason, the shop wouldn't honour my 10% discount voucher (suspicious). The designer and magazine both confirmed that the shop was included in the offer and that they had already received the discount price for all dress' but it was up to them as to whether or not they would pass this price reduction on to the customer!!! Anyway, my dress was due in around April 2006 but in Decemeber 2005, I received a phone call to say my dress was in, and I had 6 days to come and check it and pay the balance. I asked for some extra time on this as I had a young babe who wasn't well and just 2 weeks before christmas was pushing it. My answer was NO, and if I didn't go and check the dress, they'd accept it on my behalf and take the money off my credit card. Well, I got there in time, put the dress on and........shock horror on everyones faces! The front of the dress had a 'tear', the hem was stitched to the lining, the pearls on the back was sewn as a question mark rather than a straight line, crystals flew off everytime I breathed - not impressed. The shop actually wanted me to keep this dress and assured me the seemstress would sort it all out. Well even the seemstress laughed and refused. Needless to say, the dress went back but not before the shop asking me to pay the full balance, HA HA HA. The 3rd dress arrived in February and again I had to get there in just 6 days to approve, this I did and thank god, it was perfect. Relief at last. I paid my balance and the shop had a dark room to store it so I left it with them til yesterday - August 2006. Going back for my first fitting, fortunately it's needs no alteration, all was looking good. They agreed to press the dress and have it ready for me to collect a couple of days prior to my wedding. They gave me my bags, with the accessories, and hurried me out the shop. Fortunately, we stopped in the street to check and........the matching bag and wrap funnily don't match. They don't even match each other let alone the dress. I could go on and on but I think this is enough info. on what to expect from a bridal shop. They're supposed to care for you, make you feel special, give you a first class service, na ah. Money grabbing whatsits that couldn't care-a-less. And believe it or not, they still won't give me any money off, surely you pay a perfect price for a perfect dress? Thank god I'm only doing this the once. All my other wedding plans have been a breeze. I wish any other brides out there the best of luck and sincerely hope I'm the only one to have the pleasure of this experience :o) (oh if only I could mention the shops name, oh well).
