bedroom triangle

My partner has an 8 year old son who still sleeps in her bed. I love them both but this bedroom triangle puts a great deal of stress on our relationship so much so that a couple of times I felt we were on the brink of breaking up. She lost her husband in a tragic car accident when her son was a baby so this does make their seperation harder. I feel that I won't be able to handle this situation any longer and I can't build up the courage to tell her it's over between us unless her son sleeps in his own bed.
