because of you

I am tired of defending a nation of people who won't do a damn thing to help. You all criticize. The republicans this, the democrats that. A tip for you all: What other countries follow the geneva convention? I'm willing to place a bet that the US is the last one doing it. But now, you bitch about the fact that it's being changed. When the GC was penned the media was not what it is today, and warfare is not what it is today. I don't recall reading IED's and embassy bombings in the history books when the leaders of the world united to make an agreement. A question for those that want to sound off about what the media tells them (and i chose that with attention to the detail, you only know what the media tells you, and they publish with out checking for accuracy): How many brothers and sisters have you lost? A person who serves in the US Armed Forces will call any that stands up to fight with the a brother or sister. Total, i have lost some really close ones, but add on the whole amount and it's upwards of 3,000. These are young kids who VOLUNTEERED to fight for your freedoms. Your freedom to sit on your ass and not do a damn thing to show your respect. Your freedom to criticize the government you choose to live under. Your freedom to come to these sites and whine about what the president does. (Clue - he doesn't know what he is doing, no president really does, they have so many members that do everything for him.) Your freedom to work and raise a family and grow old. They won't grow old. They died at an age you'll think fondly of when you're sitting on the veranda with your grandkids. If you're not going to help the government to make positive changes with out loosing money or young American lives, then leave. I don't want to fight for ungrateful, apathetic, inconsiderate people who think they don't have to feel remorse because they didn't personally know someone who went over and didn't return!
