beaten to death

when i was six years old me and another little boy beat a bird to death. it could not fly and was running away from us. for no particular reason we started chasing it. he had a stick and i had a rubber hose. we beat it. it played dead for a moment or two then got up and ran for its life. we finished it. then we felt guilty and burried it with a funeral. i confessed to a priest. i still feel like shit about it. i'm sorry little birdy.
