My doctor sent me to have some blood tests done because diabetes runs alot in our family. A week later i receive a statement from bcbs saying they do not pay for bloodtests regardless if it is in your family history or not. I called bluecross&blueshield and was informed that they do not pay for preventive treatments but if i was having symptoms or was diagnosed for it then they would cover it. So then i asked them about a colonoscopy for pollups that run in our family and was again told that if i haven't been diagnosed with it they would not pay. Why am I payning for insurance that doesn't pay for preventive treatments? My employer and bcbs will not let you cancell your insurance only in October of every year, until then my employer (WALMARTS) deducts it from my paycheck every paycheck. There should be a law put in to effect that insurance companies should give you the right to preventive treatments and pay for it. Thats why you pay for their insurance.
