I received a $20 bank overdraft fee for a check that bounced due to my ignorance of balancing my checking account properly. The next day, even before notification of the first overdraft fee, another one was applied to my account for a total of $40. There should be at least a 2 day waiting period before a company can redeposit the same check after an overdraft, time to let the one deposit enough money to cover the check and any applicable fees.
