
Argos DONT deliver

Argos' customer service staff tell blatant lies - i bought some furniture from them which did not work correctly (they were recliner sofas). They told me the would send an uphosterer to look at them. They told me i would be contacted within 48 hours (Tuesday). When i had not been contacted, i called Argos (on their 8p a min line) and they told me they would chase the upholsterer up. When i still had not heard by Thursday, i called again and they told me he would call that evening and if he did not i should call back Friday. He didnt call, so i called Argos back and they then told me that it was 7-10 working days for a call out! In addition, when the report came in Argos told me that the report said there was nothing wrong with the sofas and that no further action was required. I contacted the upholsterer who confirmed that that was not what the report said. I called Argos again and after 20 mins (at 8p per min) they finally confirmed there was a problem and i was offered a replacement (which i refused). Their call centre is full of people who continue to repeat the same thing over and over again, they will not let you speak to a supervisor ('supervisors dont take calls') and they blatantly lie outright and when you catch them out lying, the deny saying what they have just said. Take my advice DONT BUY FROM ARGOS - THEY DO NOT DELIVER
