I worked at an appliance repair company - a huge one, with all the majors brands - for almost 2 years. What I saw was rampant ripoffs of customers. Most service repair people were not trained to work on appliances, yet customers were billed outrageous charges. I have never seen such a huge scam for anyone buying a new major appliance.
