apple warranty on ipods

I sent in my daughter's 6 month old ipod for repair. Still under warranty, they declined it because it had been slightly dented. The ipod had been practically new and if there had been a dent it was negligable. For them to have repaired the ipod and have us pay for the repair would have cost $255. We spent $300 for the ipod. It reminds me of the universal warranty on mattresses. If there is even a water mark on the bed, it voids the warranty even if the mattress is clearly defective. Apple had no way of knowing that the 'dent' was the cause of the defect to the ipod. It absolved them from repairing the ipod. There goes $300 down the drain - not to mention the extended warranty. Apple has lost a loyal customer.
