I don't know why Mac computer lovers are so devoted, because my experience with Mac SUCKED. I bought an iMac G5 and in less than a year, the computer stopped functioning. I had to haul it into a Mac store (and there is only one in my area) because NO ONE will make a house call to repair an almighty Mac. One cruel irony about Mac - in addition to having to haul it somewhere for repair - is Mac requires you to make your service appointment online. Now I ask you: HOW can you schedule a computer appointment online, when your computer isn't working?! The store diagnosed that the power plug in the back of the unit had “gone bad.' They replaced it and I lugged the unit back home. None of my files were lost, thank God, and the warranty covered the cost 100%. Then six months after the power plug was shot, the computer again stopped working. Again I hauled it to the store but the news was bad: the hard drive had fried. Yes, fried, after only a year and half! And this time, all of my data, every damn file, WAS LOST. I hate the Mac and can't understand why it has such a great reputation. The units cost a small fortune and yet the hardware is only slightly worse than the horrible service. Guess you're paying for the name - and the status symbol - because you sure as hell aren't paying for QUALITY. I don't recommend purchasing any Mac.
