So I was told amtrak is a good cheap way to travel. I was planning on leaving cincinnati ohio to go to chicago. Looked up the ticket and its only 80 bucks round trip. Not a bad deal considering i would probably waste upwards of 80 dollars driving my car. Well I look and see the trip takes 8 hours. Sounds kinda fishy to me so i look on mapquest to see the average time it take to drive a car to there. and its about half that time around 4 and a half hours. I thought trains were supposed to be fast. They dont have to deal with any shit. They just go down the tracks. I've seen freight trains hauling ass going faster than I do down the highway. What makes me mad is that people in europe and japan have their bullet trains and go everywhere in them cause its cheap and economical. Then i look at Dirty polluted america and i see amtrak. The train company that has grandma behind the helm. I probably will end of driving, cause 8 hours is a waste of my time to be stuck going on a train going 35 miles an hour through the backwoods. Now this is just my complaint, imagine all the other people in the US that want to get out and maybe go to another city. The cheapest and best way to do anything is with your car. Which is sad. They say on capitol hill that we need to find an alternative fuel source cause we have some many gas guzzling cars. Well shit genius why not build a network of elevated rail bullet trains, connect every major city to the network, then after thats established branch out to other smaller cities. The new bullet trains can travel 100 miles an hour and excess not to consider that they work off electricity!!! Just hook that up to a wind farm or hydroelectic plant and shit! we have the best way to travel in the states, faster than any highways, cheap, doesnt pollute, and you dont get raped over gas prices. Perhaps I should write my congressman if he hasnt already been paid off by the oil companies. Let me know what you think. And no im not a liberal. Just a rationalist
