AMERICAN AIRLINES FORCES PEOPLE TO SIT IN URINE FO

My husband, myself and our two children flew on American Airlines on April 3, 2005, flight #2078 at 1:43 p.m. Unfortunately, the seat my husband was seated in had been URINATED ON BY THE PREVIOUS PASSENGER. We asked the flight attendant for another seat and were told that the flight was overbooked, no other seat was available. Additionally, no replacement seat cushions were available. Therefore, my husband HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO SIT FOR FOUR HOURS IN THE URINE OF A STRANGER. Upon our arrival home, we contacted American Airlines via their complaint email pages since there are no telephone numbers for customer service. We received no response. I eventually called someone on the phone, possibly in reservations. This person indicated that I should just be patient and wait for American Airlines to contact me because surely American would do something to make things right. It has been several emails later, and over one year later and still, nothing has been done. Instead, American Airlines sent a brief email saying basically that it is our tough luck and they aren't going to do anything at all in the interest of good customer relations. To summarize, D. Keith Sternberg of AA wrote that all our airfare covered was basic transportation. They transported us and that's all any customer can expect of American Airlines - no matter how horrendous the experience. American Airlines should be extremely grateful that my husband did not contract a disease from BEING FORCED TO SIT FOR FOUR HOURS IN THE BODILY FLUIDS OF A STRANGER. I'm sure anyone can imagine just how humiliating the experience was for all of us, especially as we had to walk through the airport with soaking wet pants that smelled strongly of urine. Other people should know what kind of customer service American Airlines provides. I know of no other industry in which such terrible customer service would be tolerated.
