My husband and I were booked to fly on American Airlines to visit our children and grandchild in Japan. We arrived at the airport in a timely manner, and were told that our origination flight was 2 hours late, and that we could not make our connecting flight. No other connections were available according to the ticket agent. We got a refund, returned home and called this airline in an attempt to salvage our trip, and were told by this airline that we could just start over, pay additional fees for a late reservation and that 'any airline would do the same thing'. I will NEVER fly American Airlines again - and hope that others will take heed from our devastating experience and avoid a company that shows no regard for their customer's welfare. There was no compensation offered, no alternatives offered, and, gee, no apology.
