Placed an order on Oct 4, 2006 for an in stock item. Order was accepted and the confirmed order provided, which I printed-and an e-mail sent confirming dlvy by Oct 10. Delivery date came and went-went to the site and sent an e-mail asking why. First reply said credit card holder rejected the account-question: whey did they confirm and send the e-mail? We have never had a credit problem with that company or any other. Called the credit card company and asked what was going on. They said everything was fine and credit authorization to Amazon was given. Another e-mail sent to them telling them that they were wrong, credit was not the problem-they had authorization. They sent another reply-out of stock. Not-had been checking the site every day, never was out of stock. Sent another e-mail and told them they were not out of stock, what the heck was going on. They wrote back and said there was a problem-take two days to research???????????????? Not is two days past promised delivery date. Went back to the site and used the phone call method. They called and a person named Phil - fictitious of course - checked and said gee, they had made a mistake and the shipment would be make that day. Next day checked and no shipment had been made. Back to the site and another phone call-this time Andrea. Gosh she did not see anything wrong, said she checked the shipping center and it was ready to go. Sorry they wre and would give us a $15.00 credit. She would send an e-mail when shipped and call us to let us know it had been. Next day had not received a call or an e-mail. Back to the site and no shipment had been made-item never had shown out of stock. Now get an e-mail saying they will need two days to research the problem-this the 19th of October. Back to the site to initiate another phone call. This time the rep gave the same bs answers, asked to speak to a supervisor - doubt the result was a supervisor - who finally told us the credit was a problem. We had called the credit card company just before to make certain they had authorized the credit-they had on the original order date. Once again we told him that was a lie-cancel the order. This order was placed was to be shipped with 'Super Saving Shipping'. It is my strong belief that all of this crap was a delibertate ruse for this insanely large company to save that fee by forcing the cancellation. Of course that is outrageous-but after all the e-mails and phone calls, no Amazon people could tell me why shipment of a confirmed order of an instock item for which credit auth was provided, did not ship.
