
Amana Customer non-service

My freezer died and so did half of my food. Only 2 years into a 5 year parts warranty I call factory authorized service. Since I'm out of the 1 year the repair is $143.00/hour and if a sealed part it will be replaced. I can get service in 4 days - while my food sits in a cooler in the middle of the kitchen. I say 'this isn't a washing machine...this is my food' and am offered express service for the next day for $30.00 - Tell me that isn't b.s. I redid my kitchen 2 years ago and have had my less than one year Maytag dishwasher replaced because the tub warped, my refrigerator is now dead (2 years old) and I just repaired the computer board on my less than one year old washing machine. When I was a kid my parents bought 1 of each appliance in the 20 years that I lived there. What is the deal - stay away from Maytag/Amana and Whirlpool (all the same company now!)
