Alcoholic Husband

My husband gave up heroin within months of us meeting but then he began drinking. Six years ago he was messing around with his brothers in the swimming pool and he was thrown and broke his neck. He was virtually paralysed but after surgery he is back to normal although in chronic pain and on strong medication. His drinking has spiralled out of control and he is verbally abusive. He bullies me to get him vodka and if I refuse he threatens to get it himself though he has a driving ban and has been in prison. He has thrown me out of the house in the middle of the night and chased me down the street. I am only 36. He has been referred to psychiatrsts and sent for detox but to no avail. He has huge rows with my eldest son but when he is not drinking he is a loving husband and good stepfather to my two younger sons. I am now living with my parents but I still love him. I am not sure what I should do. I think I'm going to leave my husband for good.
