Alcohol purchase

I was approached by some kids after leaving my local liquor shop, to purchase them alcohol. In my head, every time this situation comes up, I decline and walk away. This was the first time this had ever happened to me. For some reason, I said "Okay". They gave me money, and I walked in, suddenly freaking out, yet looking for their requested drinks all the same. I found them, and took them to the till, internally ashamed, panicked, and wishing this would stop. The guy at the counter, a guy I knew fairly well now due to my frequenting of the shop, just asked if the drinks were for the kids outside. I, ashamedly, said: "Yes, sadly...". The guy refused me, gentler than I expected, and I lit up, and excused myself, gave the kids their money back, and went home, with a sick feeling in my gut. I am disgusted with myself, because even though I confessed at the last second, and the matter was dropped, I failed my own internal "test", and let myself down, as well as nearly having broken the law. I am thinking of returning tomorrow to formally apologise to the shopkeeper. It would be the right thing to do, and if I get in trouble, then so be it. I am ashamed of myself, in a way I have never felt before.

You were lucky! The cops sometimes put kids up to trying to get adults to buy for them. If that were sting operation, you may well could have been in trouble even though the transaction didn't complete. It's called intent. Yes, I agree with the first comment. Totally unfair that 18 year olds can go to war, but can't buy a beer.

Wow you have real mental issues ....guilt for things you think others would judge you by. Would you let a 20 year old have a beer after he was in army killing people since age 18 and now back in a state that has a 21 yearold drinking age.....makes no sense to me a dumb twat.
