acetaminophen in prescription painkillers

It bothers me how they put Tylenol (acetaminophen) in so many prescription pain medications, with no counterparts that don't contain Tylenol. Tylenol can cause liver damage & I don't see why it has to be included in so very many medications. Wonder how much the Tylenol people paid the medical establishment to get their product into so many meds?
