my wife had an accident in a 2002 kia sadona , was said to be the safest van in america at the time we bought it . the van had 34000. miles on it she struck a tree at aprox 60 miles hr , the van burst into flames, a naibor near by put the fire out with and extinguisher then removed my wife and her friend , my daughter and her friend got out first . the seat in the middle came loose from its mounting and crused my 12 yr old son to death against the back of the drivers seat . the fire reignighted and the van was ingolped into flames again the little 9 yr old girl in the back burned half way befor the fire dept got there and got her out she was rushed to the hospital then died once she got there . my son also burnt in the fire but he was already dead from the impact, the forinsics people say it was gas fire and apparently the safty device did not cut off the feul pump as it was made to do.if it had the 9 yr old girl might have lived, the other 9 yr old boy died from where the top of the van caved in an hit his head . all were wearing there seat belts. how safe is this kia sodona . this could have been a 30 per hour head on whith another vehice travleing 30 miles per hour giving you a 60 mile per hr inpact. do you want your children riding in one of these things . it is a time bomb. now i live with out my 12 yr old son whom i was very close to . i will never understand how i could have bought a van to keep my family safe and it didn't. my son did every thing right, he always wore his seat belt . but the whole seat comming loose crushing him with his seat belt still on him how does this happin . the seat was never removed by us ever we had no reason to. even the plastic was still on the van front floor still. we bought the van new with about 10 miles on it. how many other people have had this happin to them glh10007@aol let me know.
