Had a leaking shower and kitchen fauscet. Called Abra-Cadabra the plumbing company in New Jersey. The guy says he'll be here in an hour. An hour and 15 minutes later he calls back to say he is running late. Finally shows and quickly finds the cause of the leaks...now it gets good. He says that the $65.00 for him to come out is included in the work he will do and that it will cost $150 for tonight and then $350. to finish the job tomorrow. He goes on to say that he will go to the supply house early the next morning and price the materials but he is confident on the prices. So I am down one shower and a kitchen sink until he returns and finishes the job. I write the check for the 150. and he leaves. He calls the next morning to say that he under-estimated the cost of the items and the job is now going to cost an 750. for todays work. We tell him that we are upset that he changed the price up $400.00 more but he doesn't budge. He says he'll come over between 1pm and 3pm to do the work and he expects a check to be waiting for him when he gets there. He doesn't show at 1, 2, or 3pm. Her doesn't even call to say he will be late. When my husband reaches him he says he is on his way. Shows up after 5pm. Work is done by 6:30. One in-expensive kitchen faucet (no bells or whistles), and a drain and trap on the shower. I am still left with an open ceiling to be replaced by a carpenter. He tells me on the way out that he is sorry about the 'mix-up'. I tell him its no mix-up, its called bait and switch. I hope you never try them, because like magic your money is gone. And their word is worth nothing.
