a dream

I had a dream. I'd like your opinion please good or bad, I don't mind. ' I recieved a phone call on my mobile. I looked at the screen to see who was calling but the screen had gone. It was replaced by a small and weak bulb. Flashing on and off. On. Off. The bulb was so weak I could even see the filament. It was my sister. She told me Nat King Cole was waiting to see me. So I left the pub beer garden and started to make my way to see him. I never got there. Instead I found myself in a dirty red, brown street. The cobbled road the same colour as the houses looming either side. Rain lashing against my face in a small barrage of watery ball bearings. I noticed a young couple. He had a smug grin only young men seem to have when with the girl of their dreams, she had the brightest sparkles in her eyes. Young love. But neither looked happy for long. Someone was in the street with them. A tall figure, his long overcoat also the same colour as the street and houses. Blood red, rusty with age. His head was the only flesh visable. Bald and narrow face through years of misuse, drink and fear. He was spitting and swearing at the ground. That figure I realised was me.'
