a bit of a bike ride.

Red line, twelve thousand revs. Ear splitting roar as I move from third to fourth and hit 110mph. Head tucked down and rip the throttle back. 120 now as I pass everything as if all other vehicles are standing still. My grip on the bars is weakening and it takes all my strength to hold on. Fifth gear. Trees, hedgerows and farm buildings rush to meet me at 130mph. Everything now is a blur, the vibrations causing the bike to wobble, the handlebars start to slap. I can't actually make out anything clearly. The road now is the only thing I can see. Cars and trucks are nothing but shapes. Nothing but moving chicanes. The wind noise so loud I can't hear the exhaust note as I fly along. Focus. A left hand bend. Drop the revs and lose a gear. Throttle back again as I enter the corner and lean the bike towards the exit, 80mph now and my toe sliders kick sparks into the air as I move even closer to the ground. The bike rights itself as I hit the otherside and I move up a gear. A village ahead. 30mph limit. I pass through at 110! No speed cameras here. Slow! A tractor up ahead spitting mud onto the road! Down two gears and back into the red. Move out and Go!
