2002 F250 XLT computer failure

The onboard computer on our 2001 F250 XLT 4x4 will not connect during emissions inspection.Today is the third day in a row it has been at the Ford dealership, after only having bought it a little over 2 weeks ago from a private party.It was brought for a sticker on the first day it was registered after purchase and was never able to pass although it did pass for the seller last year. Anyone have any ideas
