Earthlink salesman called me in September and told me about True Voicd/high speed cable that would offer more and costless than my current phone bill with ATT. I said I had to check on line. I did and called EL back and signed up. They said that Time warner would call mein a couple of days. They called and said the EL had signed me up for a $71 access fee/ My plan was$29 for 6 months. After many calls and no results (and let me tell you when you call EL they transfer you and transfer you with no one passing on the information so you have to tell each new person a new set of information). Oh yeah, they all say 'I am so sorry, I am so sorry, I am so sorry+ But never any results. So after many hours on the phone, my conversation turned to off and on yelling. But still ho help and still no results. I called and told EL I wanted to go back to dial up, I just couldn't handle the frustration. So after a couple I kept thinking about what a good deal the package so I tried again. I called again. The man at EL signed me up again. H Said my phone would be transfered to EL in 5 to 10 daays, I can't remember. 'Well, I had not been connected to cable yet. Days pass. I call them back to tell them I have not been connected to cable yet. Please don't disconnect my phone. He gives me tendays. But he didn't tell me when Time Warner cable was going to call to set up my cable. A woman from Time Warner called and left a message to caller to make an appiontment, late Friday. Well, I mistakenly deleted her number. I spent hours over days calling Time Warner. They had my address hooked up with a woman half way accross LA. No one I called could find any order so i cound not make an appointment to get my cable hooked up. I called back to tell EL. They said someone would call. In the meantime, a Time Warner truck was in the street outside my house. He parked and I approached him. He said he was and engineer and was checking the pole.B e was also checking my address. They did not have my correct address in therre book. I asked him when Time Warner would be at my house to do the conn ect, 'Tomorrow.' Joke, They never showed up. Well, I was busy so when the days passed I forgot to call EL and tell them I still did not have a cable connection. They transfered my phone but did not provide cable. I did not have a phone and that wad friday night at 9pm. On Saturday I called Time Warner. They still did not know who I was, my address they looked up was some where still more than half way accross LA. Now remember, the 20 or more took more than an hour of identification and explaining each. I decided on October 30th to switch to ATT DSL. I called ATT. and talked to a sales lady. She said I'd be up and rumming in 2 to 7 days. Boy was that a lie. It eventually on the 15th day I got set up. I was without a phone foe 15 days. I called many times waiting somewhere around 20 to 30 houfs in all. ATT disconnected and hung up on me over and over. Oh yeah, I was told by one ATT person it was 7 to 10 working days. The lady who sold me ATT DSL lied to get me to buy. I also was told by ATT that my connect would be on Wednesday, 13 days, 13 days of not having a phone. Then when I didn't have a phone on promised Wednesday, ATT said they could not get a technician out till Friday 16 days without a phone. Now ATT blames Earthlink for not releasing my number. My dealings with both these super duper companies sucked amazingly. As far as I am concerned they should both be out of business. The hangups and lied caused me great pain.
