airline ticket purchase against- TRAVELOCITY

When my mother passed away last year May suddenly, I had to book a flight back to Malaysia immediately. I called TRAVELOCITY to book it through the phone, when I got there at the airport in Manchester, much to my dismay I was told that the flight was fom London not Manchester and I had to get there in order to make the flight. How disappointing ....called them they admitted thier fault...told me to buy a ticket now and they will refund it when I get back. But I missed the funeral and did not make it and till today I am feeling totally uneasy about the whole thing.I was not happy with my credit card company who did not bother (Royal Bank of Scotland) and etc.
